Senior Product Manager – CMDB & Asset Management Platform (OT / Industrial)
Role Overview
Verge Management Group is conducting a retained search for a global leader in OT and IoT cybersecurity, trusted by many of the world's largest manufacturers, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators. The company is building a new platform that will become the system of record for industrial operations: every asset, every change, every approval, and every piece of compliance evidence in one OT-native CMDB and service management platform. Customers asked for this. Plant teams are tired of squeezing industrial environments into IT ticketing and CMDB tools that were never built for them, and paying a fortune for it. This company already sees what's on the plant floor in real time. Now it's building the platform that governs it. We're looking for the product leader who will define what that platform is. Why This One Is Different It's a new category, not a feature. This isn't a roadmap tweak to an existing product. It's a company-level bet that takes the business from cybersecurity into operations, compliance, and risk management. The hard part is still open, and it's yours. The data model, identity resolution, and the core architecture decisions that everything else depends on. You start with an unfair advantage. Most CMDBs are built on stale, manually entered data. This one sits on live, first-party asset data from thousands of industrial sites. Design partners are lining up. You'll build alongside a hand-picked group of enterprise and mid-market customers who want to shape the product. AI-native from day one. There's no 20-year-old architecture to work around. You get to decide how AI does the heavy lifting.
The Mission
The Mission: What You'll Actually Do
- ·Own the data model for an OT-native CMDB and system of record: assets, locations, ISA-95 hierarchies (site, area, line, cell), relationships, and configuration history
- ·Design the identity resolution and reconciliation engine: how the platform decides that records from many sources describe the same physical asset, which source wins for each field, and how every value stays traceable
- ·Lead AI-assisted ingestion and mapping so customers onboard in days, not consulting-heavy quarters
- ·Define governed change management workflows that understand the plant floor: maintenance windows, safety and operations approvals, management of change, and planned vs. unplanned change
- ·Turn live asset intelligence into continuous, audit-ready compliance evidence (NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIS2, TSA)
- ·Build the integration story with the enterprise systems customers already run (EAM/CMMS, ITSM, CMDB, SIEM/SOAR) and decide where to partner and where to replace
- ·Make the calls. Give engineering a clear, confident direction and turn weeks of debate into days of decisions
- ·Work directly with design-partner customers to validate, learn fast, and ship
- ·Partner with a global engineering team across the US and Europe and report directly to the VP of Product

Relevant Skills and Experience: What You Need to Bring
- ·5+ years of B2B SaaS product management, including hands-on ownership of a system-of-record product: CMDB, IT or cyber asset management (ITAM/CAASM), master data management (MDM), entity resolution, service catalogs, or a similar platform
- ·Strong data-modeling instincts. You can whiteboard a schema, explain the tradeoffs, and tell us which mistakes you've already made so we don't repeat them
- ·Experience with identity resolution or reconciliation: matching messy records across many sources when there's no single reliable key
- ·Experience shipping workflow, approval, or automation engines in enterprise ITSM or similar environments (strongly preferred)
- ·An AI-first mindset: you know where AI and agentic workflows should do the work and where a human still has to approve it
- ·A bias for decisions. You're comfortable owning the hard calls and committing to them
- ·Comfortable working with enterprise buyers and technical stakeholders across operations, security, and IT
OT experience is a bonus, not a requirement. You don't need to know what a PLC is on day one. A large share of this company came straight off the plant floor, and they'll teach you. The data-model and platform experience is the hard part to find.
